AOL Spinner Listening Party
Want to hear the entire GREAT IDEAS IN ACTION album before it drops on May 1st? Then pop over to AOL Spinner where they’re hosting an online listening party for the new album.
Only a couple more days until the full album is available, so get your sneak peek now and then pop over to our webstore and order the album on CD or Vinyl!
WE ARE ON THE ROAD!
And plan to leave quite a mess in our wake, as you can see from the photo above (credit: Donnie Biggins). That pic is from our CD Release show at SubT in Chicago. I think we caused quite a mess and hope that everyone had a good time. We did.
Officially Great Ideas In Action will be available everywhere (digital online and the like) on May 1st, but those of you seeing us at our release party got a crack at it early and we hope you enjoy. We’ve heard some kind words from some reviewers who also got early listens, take a look at what they had to say below:
- Chicagoist - This is the album that will hold the door politely for you and then boot you in the ass as you pass through … and then buy you a beer to make up for it.
- Chicago RedEye - (4 out of 4 Stars!) Don’t listen to “Great Ideas in Action” unless you can handle having most of the songs stuck in your head, courtesy of Chicago’s smartest, most likable cynic.
- Mixtape Muse - No, you won’t find sophomore slump here at all, because Archie and the boys took it for a night of rock and drinks and it couldn’t keep up
- North by Northwestern - It’s music that you don’t have to think about with lyrics that you can whole-heartedly stand by.
- The Vinyl District - The record is packed with social commentary and dark lyrical content all set against some unbelievably catchy pop rock. The dynamic makes for an extremely engaging album that layers a unique danceable energy into every track.
- Chicago Tunes - You also see it at their live show, which, though experienced by me just once, is a happening perhaps best described as an event that oscillates somewhere between two poles: ruckus party and barbaric disorder.
Above is the official music video for “Crazy Pills”, the first single from our upcoming album entitled Great Ideas in Action. What do you think? We’re happy how it turned out. Hope it holds you over until the rest of the tunes are unleashed on May 1st.
How might you acquire said tunes, you ask? Happy to help you out there. You can pre-order the album on CD and/or vinyl (along with a slew of other great new merch) at our web store. If you are in the Chicago area and want to hear the entire disc early, you should come to Township for our Listening Party. You’ll get a sneak peek at all the tunes and even a special Export cocktail.
If you’re more of a “come to the show and buy gnarly souvenirs from the merch table” kind of person, be sure to come pick this stuff up at the earliest possible opportunity we can afford you - our record release show will be in Chicago at the ever so lovely Subterranean on April 27th. We suggest you buy your ticket early over here. We’ll have all this stuff there for you for the very first time, so help send us off on tour with a little scratch so we don’t have to siphon gas anymore.
Where are we going on tour, you ask? Happy to help you out there. We have a big list of our plans for May on the tour section of our website. The trip includes two weeks on the east coast of the states and two more weeks on the east coast of Canada. We’ll be on the road with our pals from Toronto. They’re called Sandman Viper Command, do yourself a favor and check ‘em out before we both come to your town and make a big old mess out of everything. God help us all.
Stay frosty,
